Let’s talk about something we've all experienced: the outfit struggle.
You know when you've picked out a look you love, but on the day of your session, suddenly you're second guessing every choice you've made? Yeah, been there...and I don’t want to go back.
Once you know a few rules about what photographs well, picking out an outfit for your upcoming family photo session is going to be much easier (it's about damn time).
Neutral colors are camera-friendly, but don't stress if you don't love wearing white. Tans, creams, grays, and blues all photograph well. Love strong, bold colors? Honestly, me too. Make them pop as a statement piece!
Textures add depth and interest to your photos. Think denim, corduroy, silk, lace, flannels, chunky knits. These fabrics keep you from looking flat and dull (you're not - but photos aren't 3-dimensional yet).
Patterns are SO fun, but can quickly become overwhelming. Stick to 1-2 people in prints for group photos. Bonus points if you mix large and small prints!
Here’s my most important tip: wear what makes you feel authentically yourself, whoever that may be. Whether it's your go-to dress or if dresses aren't your thing at all – be you! If you're comfy, it'll shine through in your pictures.
