Wanna know a secret? You don't need a fancy studio or an exotic location to create the most gorgeous and meaningful photos. All you need is the bathtub that hopefully resides in your bathroom!
Let's talk about my bathtub. It's usually filled with my children's bath toys (even though they have their own bathroom - funny how that happens) and surrounded by clutter. It's probably dirty, because who has time to clean it?
But that dingy, cluttered bathtub...turned into this:
First off, if your tub is anything like mine was, clean that sucker. It's gonna be worth it, promise.
Next, you need milk. For this session, I used about two gallons of whole milk. But don't be afraid to experiment with different types of milk! Different milks will give you different consistencies.
Here's where you get to make your milk bath just the way you want it: it's time to choose your additions. For her milk bath, Cassidy chose rose petals. But there are so many different options! You can use sliced lemons and limes, different colors of flowers, lush greenery and stems, plus different lightweight fabrics.
This part is optional, but I chose to line the edge of my bathtub with real and fake plants to add some interest and depth.
Once you've collected your tools, it's GO TIME. Start by filling up your tub with a water temperature you're comfortable with, add the milk, and watch as it swirls around. It's surprisingly captivating, so have your phone ready to record a video! You can play around with the milk-to-water ratio until it's to your satisfaction.
And LO AND BEHOLD! Your ordinary bathtub has now been transformed into a whimsical milk bath, ready for a fun and dreamy photo session.
